Megan Ann Mahon Memorial SportsAcro meet is a success

On Sunday, April 28 athletes from around the Midwest gathered at Oakville Senior High School in South St. Louis County for the annual Megan Ann Mahon Memorial SportsAcro Meet.

Athletes from Level 1 up through elite competed not just for first, second and third places, but also for qualifying scores to the regional and national tournaments to take place later this year.

“Having a sanctioned meet that our athletes can compete in really means a lot,” said Meet Director, Marcia DeGuire. “This meet has grown so much that we’ve even had to move locations. Even being gone, Megan is still challenging us to grow and change with the times.”

Megan’s mom, sister and other family members and friends took in the meet and the whole experience.

“It’s great seeing all these athletes here,” said Megan’s mom and co-Director Janelle Mahon. “It’s great seeing her students and fellow athletes can still connect with her while new students and athletes learn about what a great person she was and the greatness she still inspires today.”
